Two-Speed Exposure Hand Switch: Design Principles and Structure
Our hand switches are classified by gear positions, with three main types currently available: single-speed, two-speed, and three-speed. Today, we will focus on the two-speed exposure hand switch. As the name implies, the two-speed switch features two trigger stages: the first stage is the exposure preparation mode, and the second stage is the actual exposure mode.
You may wonder why a two-speed design is necessary. Let’s take a simple example to illustrate. If the switch only had one speed, doctors might inadvertently place the exposure hand switch in their pocket after taking an X-ray. Accidental contact with the button in this scenario could easily trigger exposure, which inevitably generates X-rays—prolonged exposure to X-rays is harmful to the human body. The two-speed design significantly reduces the risk of such accidental exposure.
In addition to safety, the two-speed setting also serves as a reminder and preparation mechanism during procedures. For instance, when a doctor is preparing to take an X-ray, they will first instruct the patient on proper positioning. Before initiating exposure, the doctor will confirm if the patient is ready. At this point, the doctor presses the first gear to put the switch in standby mode. If the patient’s posture is found to be incorrect, the doctor will not press the second gear, thereby reducing the X-ray dose the patient receives.
By now, you should have a clearer understanding of the two-speed exposure hand switch’s design. Regarding its structural composition, the external components mainly include the handle, base, spring cable, and connector. In terms of internal wiring, the exposure hand switch is mainly available in 3-core and 4-core versions. The spring cable comes in standard lengths of 3 meters, 6 meters, and 10 meters, and our company also accepts customizations to meet special requirements.
